Okay, so Adam is a big fan of Portuguese soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo. Cindy took the boys to get haircuts this week and this is what Adam got…

I just don’t get the deal with soccer. I remember when I was growing up, my favorite athlete was Pittsburg Steeler Running Back, Franco Harris. A real man playing a real man’s game. How could a kid not look up to someone like that, right?

But geez, soccer! You can’t even pick-up the ball with your hands! What’s up with that???

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! MY LA Rams versus the (BOOOOOO!) NE Patriots! I always let the boys stay up to watch the game and normally they do pretty good, but not tonight. It’s the start of the 4th quarter and they’re out! (of course, I’m not sure if they’re tired or the first 3 quarters were so incredibly boring they just couldn’t take it anymore…

Alex is Out! Adam is Out!

The Holidays are over, so that only means ONE thing! BASKETBALL! The Upward Basketball program at Fruit Cove Baptist Church is really a lot of fun! The boys learn skills as well as lessons in good character and sportsmanship.

BBall Begins

Their coaches started drilling the boys on the basics and they got quite a workout. And it didn’t matter to Alex there was a defender in front of the basket, he was taking the shot…

Today we went to The Main Event to do some bowling. The hardest part about bowling, of course, is selecting the right color bowling ball…

What was really interesting to watch was how much of their personality is displayed in their technique. Alex had a cautious and thoughtful style…

While Adam was direct and forceful, almost slinging the ball down the lane…

Dad? Well, it was hard to tell with all the gutter balls he was throwing. 🙂

Well, it’s the last game of the Fall Ball Season. We were the home team and Adam was the lead-off man. The pitcher was a little wild to start, but Adam had a good-eye for those inside pitches.

Slugger

He had a good-eye for the right pitch, too! CRACK!

What a great way to end the season!

Today, Alex earned his second yellow stripe in Taekwondo! It was a little more involved this time, but he executed his moves very well…

And so, with a bow and a handshake from Mr. Titus, the quest for the yellow belt continues! Well done, Alex! We’re very proud of you!

The training season has begun. I always like fall ball because the focus is on skills-development, rather than games and competition. Although with Adam, there’s always competition, and he’s harder on himself than any coach would ever be!

So, Alex has been learning Taekwondo and is having a great time! He works his butt off and always comes off the mat at the end of the hour sweaty and tired. Well, today he was tested by Mr. Titus…

and was awarded his Yellow Stripe, which is the first step to earning his Yellow Belt!

Alex was very proud of himself and so were we!

This evening I had the opportunity to hang out with Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker, Paul Posluszny! He’s a great guy! Paul retired from the Jags this year and his family are making Jax their home! It’ll be great seeing him around town!
