Kameran recently read, “Diary of a Young Girl” by Anne Frank. This was the diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands in WWII. For her book report, Kam dressed as Anne Frank. I think this was an outstanding costume, and I’m certain added tremendously to the telling of the tragic story.

After 24 years in the Air Force and 3 years of retirement, we’ve finally come home. The movers arrive tomorrow and we’ll be setting-up our new home. Of course, I’ll continue to work in Virginia, so will be doing a bit of traveling up-and-down I-95. But the timing is right for the move, and will be best for the family in the long-run. And it’s not like Cindy and I haven’t done the “hard-time” before with deployments and unaccompanied tours in the Air Force.

Anyway, it’s great to once again be a Florida resident!

Welcome to Florida

Wood Brothers Museum I like to pay a visit to the Wood Brothers Racing Museum every time we come back to Stuart. This was the boys first visit. They love race care and they had a blast. We even got to go into the back where they store the cars. This actually used to be a working garage until they moved the team to Charlotte.

And when you think of racing, you think of lollypops! In fact, they lost all interest in David Pearson’s Mercury, when the lady behind the counter offered them to the boys. Alas, tour’s over!

Just so ya know…this is Pearson’s ’73 Mercury Cyclone. This was his first year with the Wood Brothers and he was NASCAR’s Driver of the Year!

Alex woke up this morning a little under-the-weather, so he was unable to join Adam for the annual “Touch-a-Truck” event. Each year, Buck’s County has a weekend event where they give kids the opportunity to learn about and explore the municipal vehicles they see on the streets every day.

Adam love’s fire trucks…

Adam and the firetruck

He wanted to get into the cab of the ambulance, but I guess they didn’t want kids messing with the buttons and whatnot…although, there were a lot more whatnot in the firetruck, and that was okay for little kids. Anyway, he did get to explore the back of the ambulance. With it’s syringes, needles, medicines, oxygen, scissors, and tubing it’s a much, much safer place to be than the cab.

After the ambulance, Adam discovered the police car. Next to being a fireman, the policeman has the coolest car on the road.

“One-Adam-12, responding to two-one-one in progress…”

The trucks were never-ending, and Adam climbed on all of them…
