the kids paid a visit to the oldest Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum in the world…

Ripley Ripley

I remember reading “Ripley’s Believe It or Not” in the Sunday comics when I was a kid (and evidently, after almost 100-years, you still can)…

Ripley

I find it very interesting that in this cartoon from January 2016, they used an image of Barnabus Collins, the vampire from the late 60’s soap opera, “Dark Shadows”.

And “Believe It or Not”, despite the freezing temperature of the water (okay, maybe I’m exaggerating), they went to the beach afterward…

Jess and the kids came to visit for a few days and the boys were excited to see their nephews and ‘big sister‘ Kameran! Thank goodness for minivans!

This weekend, while I enjoyed (??) a Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Cindy and the boys met Jess and her family in Orlando for a mini-vacation. Today, they started with a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious breakfast at Disney’s Grand Floridian, then will be moving on to Animal Kingdom.

Here’s the gang with The Mad Hatter…

And Kameran and Kalie don’t seem to mind the rather creepy looking Mary Poppins, but Cater John is a bit leery…

Oliver was thrilled to meet Pooh, and A2 always enjoy hanging-out with Tigger…

So, how do you top this breakfast adventure? How about a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Hard to believe, but were heading out on the water AGAIN! Today, we have Jess and Emilo and family, plus Kameran’s plus one. So, we’ll be taking out a pontoon boat…and this Sweatwater beauty means we’ll be riding in STYLE

Soon, the brood is onboard and we’re underway…

We don’t really have anything planned today. Just cruise up the St Johns into Jax and maybe we’ll spy a dolphin or two. It was great just to relax and enjoy the time together.

And of course, with all these mates, I don’t have to sit behind the wheel…

And Cindy even get’s in a little Rodan+Fields work…what a GREAT office!

We docked at the Jacksonville Landing, and walked around the restaurants and shops for a bit. Since it was Sunday, a lot of them were closed. Still, it was nice to get out and stretch our legs a bit, before climbing back on board and heading up the river to see if we could see some Dolphins.

Emilo took the wheel as we headed under the Main Street bridge. While the kids kept their eyes open for dolphins, I just enjoyed the sunshine.

And it didn’t take long before we saw a entire POD!

We were able to get pretty close as they swam alongside the boat.

After the dolphin show, we took Jessica Lorraine to see the Jessica Lorraine

It was a great day! Everyone was a bit tired, but still wore a smile…except for those that were asleep!

The day before Nick and Danielle’s wedding, we were kicking-off baseball season with Alex and Adam. Right after the game, we jumped in the family truckster and headed for the highway and Alabama. Upon our arrival, we met Nick, Danielle, and Danielle’s mother for dinner (Nick and Danielle looked beat!), then to Jessica’s, where we were staying.

The next day, we got the boys ready and headed for the wedding venue. This was the boys first wedding experience and they enjoyed dressing up with a shirt and tie…

Fortunately, Cindy had her “selfie stick”, so we were able to capture the family moment for posterity…

Wedding Family

The wedding was great and the boys were pretty well behaved. Danielle’s mom made these little gift bags for the kids with puzzles and coloring books to keep them occupied. Alex and Adam thought they were the greatest thing! But the highlight of the wedding for Alex was Neil’s toast to the bride and groom! He loved toasting!

Family visits often mean early Christmas presents! But first, we need to take a picture, so here we have a pre-present-opening picture of the boys and their Niece Big Sister, Kameran…

Well, Halloween is here again. Given his affinity for candy, I’d say this is Adam’s favorite holiday! This year the boys wanted to be Peter Pan and Captain Hook…

The Fourth of July weekend is winding down and what better way to bring it to a close than to take the kids for a cruise up the St John’s River?

I slow the boat as we approach the Buckman Bridge. It’s always fun watching the cars and trucks speeding across and listening to the hum of their wheels as we travel under the bridge. Of course, if Adam had his way, it’d all be a blur as we flew under the bridge at top-speed!

Buckman Bridge

Once we crossed into the Jacksonville Landing area, we docked the boat and spent some time at Friendship Park. I really love this city!

One the way back to the marina, Katy got to take a turn at the wheel! Kam opted-out, as she prefers being ferried across the river than being the person actually doing the ferrying.

Kameran took a minute or two from swimming to pose for a couple of pictures with her little brother. Of course, it’s never much of a imposition for Kam to pose for a picture…
