Lately, Alex’s favorite activity is to kick back in his favorite chair and watch television. In fact, he’s not just laid back, he’s way-far laid back. Chillin’ and relaxin’ at the same time, which results in an extreme state of contentedness.

So content is he, in fact, that I could sketch this picture while he sat there motionlessly watching his favorite show:

Alex Color Sketch

I didn’t really sketch the picture. But I did have time to get up from the couch, walk to the office, get the camera, and walk back to the living room, focus, frame, and snap the picture of my kid as he sat there oblivious to everything except DJ Lance and the kooky looking monsters magically brought to life with the words, “Yo Gabba Gabba.”

After more than a month of gloomy, gray, overcast days and cold, snowy, winter weather, God paints a beautiful sunset across the warming Pennsylvania sky…

The boys absolutely love the Disney/Pixar movie, “Cars”…

They’ll sit and watch the entire movie; it’s the only thing they’ll sit still for for any length of time.

Watching Cars

Hey, NASCAR racing starts this week! Wonder what the boys will think of watching real-life “Cars”??

( One can only hope )

Well, not exactly: more like “converted” beds. A couple of days ago, I converted the boys cribs to toddler beds. We figured they were ready for the increased freedom the change would provide. After all, Adam was already climbing in and out of his crib at will, so this would actually make it a little safer for him.

Adams new bed

Adam took to the new arrangement right away; Alex, on the other hand, didn’t seem to care much for the change. The past two nights he wouldn’t settle down and go to sleep. Cindy ended up putting him in the Pack-n-Play, which did the trick.

So, I dis-converted (is that a word?) Alex’s toddler bed to a crib. The result? He was fine.

Alex is not a big fan of change.

Okay, so I’m not complaining about the snow anymore!

I’ll take snow any day over ice and freezing rain!! This morning the driveway was pretty much a sheet of ice:

Ice Storm Ice Storm

and my truck was literally encased in it:

Ice Storm Ice Storm

Fortunately, the world famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did NOT see his shadow this morning, which means we’re going to have an early Spring!

And statistically speaking, Phil has been right about 50% of the time, so you couldn’t do any better if you flipped a coin! 😉
